Public payphones are rarely used these days, and overall use has dropped by 90% over the last ten years. As a result BT are removing many phone boxes, and they are currently looking to take 13 away across North Somerset, including the one near the junction of Milton Road and Ashcombe Road.
It’s difficult to justify the retention of many of the phones which are used once or twice a year, but there have been 58 calls made on this particular one over the past 12 months.
