Weston Town Council’s programme of installing and refurbishing children’s play areas could see improvements at Wyvern Close. This play area is close to the Drove Road/Locking Road/Ashcombe Road junction, and is currently looking rather tired.
The council has a budget of £14,000 for the improvements, and is looking for companies to tender for the work.
The Town Council has installed play equipment at several sites across the town, including at Ellenborough Park and Clarence Park. Robert Payne, town councillor for central ward, welcoming the plan said: “The Town Council’s play area refurbishments have in the main been of good quality, and it would be great to have a decent play area for the Ashcombe Road area. Outdoor play is hugely important for children’s health and fitness, and also their social skills.”Leave a comment
