All set for take off

The Weston Air Festival – one of the highlights of Weston-super-Mare’s summer calendar – takes place over the weekend of Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 June.

The free event, which includes spectacular aerobatic displays and Armed Forces Day celebrations, will run from 10am to 6pm each day on the seafront.

Aerial displays are due to start around 1pm with the Red Arrows performing on both days. The full line-up of confirmed flights is:

  • Whirlwind 10 (search and rescue)

  • Gazelle Squadron
  • Battle of Britain Memorial Flight

  • RAF Red Arrows
  • The Blades Aerobatic Display Team
  • Breitling Wingwalker.

On the ground there will be a full programme of performances in the Armed Forces Arena, including appearances from The Marionettes, field gun displays, unarmed combat displays and much more. The Beach Lawns will be a hive of activity with trade stands and activities for all to enjoy.
