Children can’t have all the fun over the school holidays. Here’s a round-up of the latest events, workshops and courses, whether you want to learn a new skill or just have some fun…

• Craftivism workshop – 7-9pm, Thursday 20 February, Weston Artspace, High Street, Weston-super-Mare. All knitters, cross stitchers, crocheters and crafty wannabes welcome who want to challenge injustice in the world. www.facebook.com/craftivismworkshop

• Clevedon beach clean – 9.30-11.30am, Saturday 22 February. Meet promptly by the pier for a safety briefing. 20 people maximum. Reserve your spot at www.facebook.com/clevedonbeachclean. The event is weather permitting and a notice will be put on Facebook if it is cancelled.

• Sugar Loaf beach clean – 10.30am-noon, Sunday 23 February. Meet outside Portishead Yacht and Sailing Club. All welcome. www.facebook.com/sugarloafbeachclean

• Learn to Draw – a five-week course starting on Thursday 27 February, at The Stable, Wadham Street, Weston-super-Mare. For beginners and those wanting to improve their drawing and painting skills. Hosted by Action Pussycat. www.ticketsource.co.uk/learntodraw

• Horses! Horses! – a pub play by Rina Vergano, presented by Wassail Theatre Company and Theatre Orchard. A darkly comic tale of a stolen horse.

• Portishead Window Wanderland – Saturday 29 February–Sunday 1 March. Transform your street into an outdoor gallery by decorating your windows. A ‘display’ could be as simple as a candle, book, fairy lights or image in a window, or draw/paint a picture, or even stage a performance in your front room. • Spring craft fair – 10am-4pm, Sunday 8 March, Weston Museum, Burlington Street, Weston-super-Mare. Looking for the perfect gift for Easter or Mother’s Day? • Women’s Health Fair – 10am-4pm, Sunday 8 March, Portishead Youth Centre, Harbour Road. Free event to celebrate International Women’s Day. Hear talks on topics such as menopause, post childbirth and osteoporosis. Taster exercise classes available throughout the day including Pilates, chair yoga, balance class, and dance.
