Ambitious strategies are being drawn up in North Somerset to keep delivering much-valued services and the council needs your views to help shape them.
A number of consultations are now running, which are being grouped together under the banner of ‘Your Neighbourhood’.
It includes a consultation on the garden waste service, which looks in detail at the decision to introduce an annual charge of £50 per bin.
This charge is necessary to promote more eco-friendly methods, such as home composting, and to make it a self-financing service.
Other Your Neighbourhood consultations include:
• leisure and sports centres
• libraries
• parks and open spaces
• street cleaning.
The council is particularly interested in ideas about how it might work with local communities and stakeholders to create effective partnerships, pool resources where possible and take advantage of income generation opportunities to make these valued services as efficient and sustainable as possible.
