An evening of street food, music and family entertainment is promised as a new event comes to Weston-super-Mare this summer.
Weston Street Food Market will take place at the Italian Gardens in the town centre on Friday 24 August from 4pm-9pm.
The event has been arranged by the organisers of the eat:Weston festival in partnership with North Somerset Council and Weston Business Improvement District (BID) as part of the town’s Purple Flag initiative.
“Kick-start your August bank holiday weekend with a free pop-up event showcasing some amazing street food, craft beers and ciders and family entertainment including music, face painting, Punch and Judy and balloon modelling,” said organiser Bev Milner Simonds.
“We want to create a welcoming event that draws people into town who maybe don’t think there is anything for them or their family.”
Attracting more people into the town centre by broadening the appeal of what’s on offer is a key part of Weston retaining its Purple Flag status. The prestigious Purple Flag has been awarded to the town for the past three years in recognition of its safe and diverse evening and night-time economy.
