Councillor Mike Bell has written, on behalf of North Somerset Council, to ask the Royal British Legion to ask them to reconsider their plan to close Somerset Legion House on Beach Road.
The building and service has a long association with Weston-super-Mare and many veterans are concerned about the impact of the RBL proposals.

Thankyou for thanking up the cause.I walk pass this building, frequently and iv’e always thought how under used it was.It has a fantastic frontage,it could have opened everyday as a Cafe.(.think of the Tropicana ),The British Legion had a walk in help centre in Meadow Street that closed, there was no reason that Legion house could have opened their doors to various organisations .It’s quite criminal really that this is closing, and soldiers are suffering from Pstd and homeless.Frankly there should be an investigation into the conessmpetence of people managing the resources e.t.c
Severely embarassed at all the spelling and grammatical errors in my above comment.(fat fingers)But I hope you get the gist.
