A drop-in session for residents and businesses to have their say on proposed improvement works to Station Road, Walliscote Road, Alexandra Parade and Regent Street in Weston-super-Mare town centre will take place on Monday.
Council officers and local ward councillors will be on hand to discuss proposed plans and answer questions at the event, which will be on Monday 19 August from 5pm to 7pm in the New Council Chamber at the Town Hall, Weston.
Cllr John Crockford-Hawley, Chairman of the Strategic Planning, Economic Development, Heritage and Regeneration Scrutiny Panel which has organised the session, said: “This drop-in session is an opportunity for members of the public to discuss issues with officers and with me in an informal though informative environment.
“I look forward to hearing from anyone who wishes to learn more of these proposals. Our findings will then be sent to the council’s Executive for a decision.”
The project is being funded by a £4.45m grant from the Department for Transport and Local Growth Fund for public realm, highways and transport improvements to Station Road, Walliscote Road and Alexandra Parade. A further £850,000 from the same sources has also been awarded for similar works in Regent Street.
