Improvement works at a number of parks in North Somerset are due to be carried out this summer.
Twelve projects, ranging from replacing children’s play equipment to repairing paths, have been identified by North Somerset Council.
It follows the award of a £37,118 grant to the council by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government to support “urgent” works in parks.
The projects are:
Clevedon
Nailsea
Portishead
Weston-super-Mare
“This funding is particularly welcome as ongoing budget cuts have meant that little significant investment has been made in North Somerset’s parks in the last few years,” said Cllr Mike Bell, North Somerset Councillor for Weston-super-Mare Central Ward.
“We are targeting funds where there is an immediate need. The grant gives us a much-needed opportunity to replace decommissioned play equipment that has been removed for safety purposes and to repair old or damaged infrastructure.”

While the repairs are going on around Clarence Park, could the road signs be looked at? I noticed recently that someone has been whiting out the road names – and in the case of St Pauls Road (outside No.1), taking the sign away altogether. Thoroughly confusing for visitors.
