The Weston Mercury has asked the different parties to offer 150 words on key policies. Here is what the Lib Dems had to say on health ?♀️ ?
Liberal Democrat priorities include fighting to protect our 24/7 accident and emergency care at Weston Hospital and putting a stop to downgrades of our local health services. We want people across North Somerset to have good quality and accessible healthcare and that means investment in Weston Hospital, in our GP services and at Clevedon Community Hospital. We also want to introduce free swimming in council pools for under 18s to support young people with their health and fitness and we’d deliver a second pool for Weston and a new pool for Nailsea. We recognise the importance of Town and Parish Councils in improving sports and leisure opportunities in local parks and open spaces, so we’d look to support them through more innovative partnership work. It’s time for the Town Hall to listen to local people. The Conservative majority has been in power for 12 years and it’s time for change.
