We’re delighted to announce our team of Liberal Democrat candidates for Weston Central ward for the North Somerset Council and Weston-super-Mare Town Council elections this May: Cllr Mike Bell, Cllr Robert Payne and Ella Sayce.

Mike has represented Weston Central on North Somerset Council since 2011. Robert has represented Weston Central on Weston Town Council since 2015. Ella is joining the team this time and standing for the Town Council for the first time.

Weston Central Ward elects TWO North Somerset Councillors and THREE Weston Town Councillors. Mike and Robert are seeking election to both North Somerset Council and Weston Town Council; Ella is asking for your support for Weston Town Council only.

Their three top priorities are:

• Protecting our NHS services – they are fighting cuts to local healthcare. They want to keep our 24/7 A&E open and prevent downgrading or closure of local GP services.
• Winning fairer parking – they have a clear plan for fairer parking rules, with residents’ parking zones and permits, lower parking charges and fair enforcement.
• Cleaning up Weston – they are campaigning for more street cleaning, more support for community groups who do such great work keeping Weston tidy, and more investment in our parks and open spaces.

The local elections take place on Thursday 2nd May.
