Doubt has been raised over the future of Weston’s SeaQuarium, whose doors remained closed last weekend,
The owners of the attraction, which employs 11 staff on its sea-front site, have said that it is under review and no decision has been made. But they have admitted that there are financial difficulties and that all employees are going through a redundancy consultation.
Councillor Robert Payne is concerned about the loss of yet more facilities and attractions to the seafront and town centre. He said “It is really disappointing that we are losing so many different things. Whatever you think of this particular venue, we need more things to attract people to Weston, and we need more direct investment into the town.”Leave a comment
