The sand at Marine Lake beach is being refreshed and expanded after complaints about its poor quality from residents.

Councillor Mike Bell asked for the beach to be refreshed with sand from elsewhere on the seafront and diggers have been on site this week.

Mike said: “It’s great to see this work having an impact. The next step is to get the lake dredged and cleaned up to restore the Marine Lake to the pristine condition it should be. Unfortunately, the council has not always been good at these basic maintenance jobs and it is something that needs to be looked at to keep the town’s assets looking good.”
