Traffic calming planned for Oxford Street

by mikebell on 19 November, 2017

As part of the area improvements in Oxford Street associated with the Dolphin Square development, North Somerset Council will be constructing speed cushions and a raised table in Oxford Street to slow traffic.
At the same time, the speed limit along the entire length of Oxford Street and High Street will be changed to 20mph.
Councillor Mike Bell said: “I welcome the reduction of the speed limit and introduction of the speed cushions to slow traffic down Oxford Street. Once Dolphin Square is completely finished this will be a very busy area, with lots of pedestrians. Given that, it is a pity that the council removed the pedestrian crossing. It would have been better to leave it in place in my opinion.”

Will there be a number of disabled parking spaces outside the new cinema complex and, if so, how many spaces will be provided?

There are a number of disabled spaces in Carlton Street car park, which is of course adjacent to the cinema, and there are also two bays in both High Street and in St James Street.
