Local councillors Mike Bell and Robert Payne are campaigning to get a community hub built for the centre of Weston.

The community hub, that could bring together health services, the Children’s Centre and other community uses with space for local groups and organisations is urgently needed according to the two men.

Cllr Robert Payne said: “Weston town centre is receiving a lot of attention as part of the regeneration plans, but what is missing at the moment is a community hub to address the lack of health care and the need for space for local community groups and people to meet.”

Cllr Mike Bell added: “We’re determined to keep raising this issue – why should the Weston Central miss out when other areas like Locking Castle and Bournville have got facilities already built?”
