Get active with free exercise sessions

by mikebell on 25 August, 2016

Adults living in Weston-super-Mare can apply for a Go4Free activity card allowing them to access up to 20 free and half-price visits at local sport and exercise sessions.

There are over 75 to choose from. Classes include yoga, pilates, circuits, spin, aqua aerobics and many more.

If stepping straight into a class makes you nervous then you can sign up for one of the Go4Free beginners courses in September.

North Somerset Council’s sport and active lifestyles team will be running 10-week Water Confidence and Return to Water courses at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre in Weston-super-Mare starting on Wednesday 14 September from 11.30am-1pm.

Water Confidence is aimed at anyone who is confident in water but feels they are an inexperienced swimmer and would like to learn in a supportive environment with a qualified instructor.

Return to Water is for anyone who is confident in the water and can swim at least five metres unassisted or maybe hasn’t swam for a while and would also like to learn in a supportive environment with a qualified instructor.

There will also be a Couch 2 5k course starting on Wednesday 21 September at Worle Recreational Ground from 6pm-7pm. This course is supported by a qualified run instructor and is designed to get you off the couch and running in just 10 weeks.

For more information, to check eligibility and to apply for an activity card visit the North Somerset Council website at www.n-somerset.gov.uk/Go4Free. If you already have 10 full or half-price (or a combination of both) Go4Free sport vouchers or an activity card and would like to register for one of the beginners courses then contact the sport and active lifestyles team atsport@n-somerset.gov.uk.
