A section of Weston-super-Mare will soon be turned into a ‘pocket park’ after being awarded Government funding.

The park will be located at The Centre opposite the Town Hall and will see benches, plants and lighting installed.

It comes after £15,000 was secured by North Somerset Council and Weston Business Improvement District (BID).

Central ward councillor Mike Bell said: “This is great news and I was pleased to support the bid for funding. We are really beginning to see positive signs of regeneration in Weston town centre.

“There is a lot to do, but it is encouraging that inventive projects like the ‘pocket park’ are being supported and made to happen. I cannot wait to see the end result.”
